Lisa & Ian wanted an intimate elopement in their home-city of Washington, DC. They opted to get ready and self-officiate their marriage ceremony in a suite at the Hay Adams, overlooking the White House and National Monument. They dressed separately, which allowed for the opportunity of an emotional first look. They shared their private vows to each other on the Juliet balcony of their suite and were able to declare themselves married immediately after. They opened a bottle of champagne for a toast, and then we headed out for their favorite restaurant, Le Diplomate, with a quick stop at the hotel's phone booth along the way. Once on 14th Street, we took a few portraits outside with clear umbrellas before heading into the bar for another toast to wrap up the celebrations.
